This is Driver Joe beside his train at Monaghan Railway Station. This train was an Irish Railway Records Society Special Train, and you can see members of the Society fanning out over the tracks in the background. According to MB89763733: "The railway to Monaghan closed 31st December that year and this was the last passenger train to use it. It officially closed to passengers 13.10.1957 but periodic specials such as GAA trains continued to operate." Note the Customs and Excise . . .
